Hurricane Elias

I just had to share this - thought many of you mommies of toddlers could relate. This is what my living room looked like moments ago before I put Elias down for his nap (Click to enlarge.):What on earth happened in here? A freak indoor tornado? A burglar who was searching for our valuables? Nope, it was just Hurricane Elias, my toddler whirlwind. Cleaning up is the next thing on my list to teach him!

Cleaning up is the BEST thing we've started doing with Ian. We make a game out of it, and he loves it. It's like playing with each toy all over again. Granted, it takes time, though.

Hey, that looks like my living room now! Except, the toys all over the place are Legos and Star Wars action figures....

I can't decide which I like best: the empty book shelves or the couch cushions tossed about. Too funny!

Gee, this looks familiar. Except for the couch cushions. The only reason ours don't end up on the floor is because we have a slipcover on the couch, and our loveseat cushions are big, heavy, and hard to pull out. C will clean up some, only to dump out and start all over again. Sigh.

All too familiar, yes. And I don't know that things change until they're out of the house, at least from my understanding. I remember once upon a time when Geron and I had a house that was very easy to keep clean, laundry on the bedroom floor and occasional dirty dishes were our only issue. Then Cora and Cohen came along and I don't even know if we're living in a house anymore. I think it was once a house. Good luck!
