Proverbs 27:2

Joni said...

To the anonymous commenter who by the Proverbs 27 verse accuses me of trying to get my own glory by telling the story in this blog: I explicitly stated that wasn't the case. After searching my conscience, it remains clear because I know my motives in telling the story were pure. I continue to believe, as I stated in the story, that I barely did anything at all, but God used it for good for HIS glory, not mine.

I challenge you to search your own heart to think about why you felt it would be better to judge, accuse, and try to discourage me rather than accepting what I shared from my heart as truth. I believe that enough people were encouraged by my sharing, as was my intention, that I owe no apology to those who intentionally misinterpret my words.

Your story IS encouraging!

And don't worry about anyone "anonymous" who is too much of a coward to offer their name alongside their criticism.

Thanks for the kind words, Karen. I felt the same way, but it always helps to hear that someone else agrees! ;)

I'm sorry someone said that to you, Joni. As I emailed you, this post meant a lot to me. I continue to think about it, and the overall theme of your blog (in my perspective) is humility and transparency. You talk about your struggles so openly and so often. This post showed me more of the love of God--God's love is so real that you were able to use a little of it to bless another family, and to make use of the gifts he has given you. So many people are unable to access their gifts because they are unable to accept the love of God. I hope the love of God will come even more alive in the heart of your anonymous commenter. All glory to God for the amazing work he is doing in your life.
